How Ivey's German Shepherds Came to Be.
My name is Daniel. I am the owner/operator of Ivey's German Shepherds. My love for the German Shepherd Dog began when I was a young boy with my first GSD, Bo.
It took nearly another 2 years to find a male worthy of being an Ivey. We found Ruger, in South Carolina and we were able to bring him home when he was only 8 weeks old.
In 2014, with the help of my wife Amy, I set out to find the perfect GSD. After several months of looking we brought home Lexi when she was 4 months old.
These 2 dogs were chosen for their athletic ability, temperament, intelligence, and overall health. Both dogs are protectors of my family and gentle enough that I allow my 8 month old son to be in the floor with them.
Lexi and Ruger have the instinct to discern if there is danger or if everything is under control. They have been successfully trained from simple obedience to commands such as "guard" and "find it." After determining that Lexi is a ball-driven dog and Ruger is treat-driven, training became more effective.
I have made it easy for you to find the perfect purebred German Shepherd Dog. The American Kennel Club Pedigrees for both parents are available and ensure that no inbreeding has occured providing additional information that the offspring are quality dogs.
After much thought and discussion, after her second litter, we made the decision to retire Lexi as a breeding female.
We again looked for an extended period of time, and found our newest family member Storm. Not only did we choose her for her beautiful liver color, we could tell that she was going to be a large GSD. Her 1 year old, summer weight is right at 80 pounds! She is incredibly gentle with our son. She follows him around the yard and has "caught" him "falling" down the hill on a few occasions. She will 'Find' him when asked.
She is proving to be an excellent mother to this litter of puppies and we look forward to seeing what the future holds with her!
